Another New Year, and it isn't waiting on anyone either. Where does the time go. The only thing I can suggest is to sit back, buckle up and enjoy the ride. May it be a good ride for all of us.
I would like to take this time to personally welcome fellow Camrades' Brenda L. Ponce along with John R. Miller as our latest members. Welcome aboard Comrades. I am looking forward to personally meeting each of you.
At this time i wish to give high recognition to my Judge Advocate. That Camrade being, Comrade Larry Feidner. I am pleased to feel as though if the need should arise, that this Comrade will do the VFW justice. He has multiple years within this Office. Did i mention that he is a World War II Veteran III, and still very active within the VFW. May God Bless You Comrade and be with you.
I also wish to give accolades to another very fine Comrade. That being Comrade Harry Lease, another World War II Veteran and Comrade upon his 65th Brithday.

The begining of the New Year has come and gone, along with most of my New Year's Resolutions. I made it until the 3rd for not eating fast foods this year. Each year it gets one day longer so at my present age I should be able to go a whole year with that resolution at the age of 413.
We have two new members at the Post. I want to welcome Brenda Ponce (Navy) and John Miller (Army) to VFW 4931. So if you see two new faces at your Canteen I know everyone will make them feel at home. We all know another Veteran so if them they are not a member of the VFW 4931 ask them why and bring them by to see what we have to offer and see what they could help us with.
I want to say thank you again to those members that have gone that extra step and helped this past month to make your Canteen a better place. A big thank you goes out to Chappy, Speedy, the Ladies Aux, Men's Aux and all the others who donate oney to help cover the expense of the moving an dset up of our donated beautiful and elegant full size pool table. The table is still free to play and should be a big hit at the 17 March pool tournament. Also had a cleaning of the Canteen beverage cooler and I want to thank Jim and Randy for their services. I know I have forgotten someone but please understand my memory is not what it used to be but you and your efforts are remembered and highly appreciated. The ones we seem to forget and take for granted are the wonderful ladies that work your Canteen. Next time you are in, tell them personaly "Thank you for your suport to us". Plus a little extra tip will also let them know.
This month your Newsletter has a new calendar, the Canteen Calendar. This will list the important meeting dates and times along with Canteen daily specials and Happy Hour. I am looking for any input you feel would make your Post and Canteen a better place. Please email me at srvicecommander@vfw4931.org with your suggestions. We hope to have more homemade food next month and more activities but your thoughts are needed.
